Surfers and beach lovers, buckle up for a wild ride along the California coast! We're looking at some seriously epic wave action brewing for Wednesday and Thursday.
West-facing beaches are about to get hammered with monster swells. Sonoma and Marin County are expecting a gnarly 8 to 12 feet on Wednesday, ramping up to a jaw-dropping 15 to 20 feet by Thursday. San Francisco and San Mateo will see impressive 7 to 11 feet waves Wednesday, climbing to a thunderous 13 to 17 feet Thursday.
Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay aren't far behind, with Wednesday's west-facing beaches serving up 7 to 11 feet of pure oceanic power, escalating to 11 to 15 feet by Thursday. Monterey's looking at slightly smaller but still impressive 6 to 9 feet waves Wednesday, growing to 8 to 12 feet Thursday.
Wind conditions are playing along nicely, mostly from the southeast and southwest at 10 to 14 miles per hour. Temperatures will hover between a cool 52 and 68 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of rain adding some dramatic atmosphere to your surf session.
Water temperatures are a bit of a mystery in some zones, but Monterey's reporting a comfortable 58 to 60 degrees, and San Francisco's sitting around a chilly 53 degrees.
Tides will be dancing throughout the day, with low points ranging from 1.3 to 2.1 feet and high points reaching 5.0 to 5.6 feet.
Pro tip: Check local beach advisories and use extreme caution. These waves are not for the faint of heart! Stay safe, stay stoked, and may the surf gods be with you!
