Listen Later

Surf's up, coastal adventurers! Northern and Central California are serving up some serious wave action today. If you're hunting for epic swells, the west-facing beaches are your playground with massive 10 to 14-foot rollers that'll make even seasoned surfers think twice.

Sonoma and Marin County beaches are looking wild with powerful west-facing waves promising an adrenaline rush. San Francisco and San Mateo coastal zones are matching that intensity - expect thundering 10 to 14-foot western waves perfect for experienced wave riders.

Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay are not holding back either. We're talking substantial 9 to 13-foot west-facing waves that will challenge even the most skilled surfers. Water temperatures hover around a chilly 53 to 57 degrees, so wetsuit up!

Today's forecast is mostly cloudy with patchy fog rolling in, creating that classic California coastal atmosphere. Winds will be relatively mild - southwest to northwest at 3 to 5 miles per hour, gradually picking up slightly throughout the day.

Temperature-wise, you'll want a light jacket. Coastal areas will range from a cool 54 to a mild 69 degrees. The tides are looking dynamic with significant fluctuations between low and high points throughout the day.

CRITICAL WARNING: Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through 11 PM. Local authorities recommend checking current conditions before heading out. Rip currents and powerful waves demand respect and experience.

Surf safely, stay alert, and may the waves be ever in your favor!
