Surf's up, coastal crew! This is your Northern and Central California surf report dropping straight from the National Weather Service.
We're looking at some seriously sweet wave action today along the California coastline. Sonoma and Marin are serving up 5 to 8 foot swells with a partly cloudy backdrop and some sneaky patches of fog. Temperatures will dance between a cool 54 and a toasty 75 degrees with a gentle northwest breeze at 5 miles per hour.
San Francisco and San Mateo counties are matching those epic conditions with similar 5 to 8 foot waves and water temperatures hovering around a crisp 53 degrees. Expect some patchy fog to play peek-a-boo with the sunshine while winds slowly shift from south to southeast.
Santa Cruz is bringing its own flavor with 4 to 7 foot waves today and a temperature range warming up to 78 degrees. The Southeast winds will be your companion, starting light and gradually picking up momentum.
Monterey Bay and Big Sur are keeping it mellow with 3 to 5 foot swells and water temperatures around 56 degrees. Southwest winds will be your gentle guide through a partly cloudy day.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, things are getting more dynamic. Northwest facing beaches could see swells cranking up to 10 feet while south facing beaches will enjoy a solid 6 to 8 foot playground. Temperatures will cool slightly and clouds will dominate the sky.
Pro tip surfers: Check local beach conditions and potential closures before paddling out. Stay stoked and stay safe!
