Surf's up, wave riders! Hold onto your boards because we've got some seriously spicy ocean conditions brewing across Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Today's calling for a high-risk rip current scenario that's going to keep lifeguards on their toes. Expect massive swells around 6 to 7 feet rolling in from the east, with winds howling between 10 to 20 miles per hour. The north and northeast regions are looking especially gnarly, so weekend warriors better bring their A-game and serious ocean skills.

San Juan and surrounding beaches are seeing sunny skies this morning transitioning to cloudy conditions with numerous showers and potential thunderstorms. The surf is pumping with substantial wave action that demands respect and caution. Culebra and St. Croix are experiencing similar intense maritime conditions with surf heights approaching 7 feet.

By Friday, things will mellow slightly - rip current risks drop to moderate with wave heights around 4 to 5 feet. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue dancing across the tropical seascape, keeping things dynamic and unpredictable.

Weekend forecast looks more relaxed but still active. Expect partly sunny skies, surf heights around 3 to 4 feet, and persistent east winds ranging 10 to 15 miles per hour. Scattered showers will provide refreshing tropical intermissions between epic wave sets.

Bottom line surfers: Stay alert, respect the ocean's power, and never surf alone. These conditions demand skill, awareness, and a healthy dose of maritime humility. Catch you on the waves!
