The second Pig met a Man with abundle of sticks, and said, “Please, Man, sell me those sticks to build ahouse”; which the Man did, and the Pig quickly built his house out of the cheapsticks.

Then along came the Wolf andsaid, “Little Pig, little Pig, let me come in.”

“No, not by the hair of my chinnychin chin.”

“Then I’ll puff and I’ll huff,and I’ll blow your house in!” So he huffed and he puffed, and he puffed and hehuffed, and at last he blew the house down.

The second little Pig barelyescaped the hungry Wolf, and ran as fast as he could back to the safety of theold barn and his mother Sow. Although the Sow was happy to see her little Pigssafe, she was disappointed that they had returned so soon after trying to makeit on their own.

The third little Pig met a Manwith a load of bricks, and said, “Please, Man, sell me those bricks tobuild a house with”; so the Man sold him the bricks, and he built a strongsturdy house with them.

The bricks were muchmore expensive than straw or sticks, but the third little Pig knew that brickswould make a strong house.
