Today, we are each one day closer to standing before God’s courtroom than we were yesterday. Scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:10 that “we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.”

So why talk about God’s courtroom during the Christmas season? Because Christmas is not just about celebration—it’s about preparation. If we are not ready to stand before God as forgiven sinners, then we are not truly on the path that leads to heaven.

Just as an unopened Christmas gift brings no benefit, the gift of eternal life only changes us if it is personally received by faith. Otherwise, it remains unopened—still under the tree, still bearing your name, but never experienced.
