Camino author Sanjiva Wijesinha attended medical school in Sri Lanka and Oxford University as a postgraduate scholar.
He has been an army doctor, a specialist paediatric surgeon, a family physician and a university professor. He and his wife Dr Chitra Wijesinha have two children Shivantha and Menaka.
He walked the Camino with his son in 2011 and wrote a book about the experience titled 'Strangers on the Camino.'
