Santiago Chile Temple

Listen Later

The Santiago Chile Temple was announced just 24 years after the Chilean mission was established. Church growth has been extremely fast and abundant in this lovely country. When the Chile Mission was organized in 1956, the country had just over 600 members. In less than two decades, there were four missions and nearly 100,000 members. By the year 2000, there were over half a million Latter-day Saints in Chile, more than 3 percent of Chile’s population. This was the highest proportion anywhere in Latin America.
