Welcome everybody, my name is Alexander Greb, I am the Customer Advisory lead S/4HANA at SAP and you are listening to the SAP Experts Podcast.

The worst thing that can happen to any digitalization initiative is that the adopter decides to approach that topic of going to S/4HANA via a Lean Migration, that basically does nothing more than taking all your old stuff and pushing it on the modern platform and by this everything … is, looks and feels the same as before.

Thats not how you progress that’s not how you leverage the value of digitalization and that’s not what best-in-class adopters want. Frankly, even if you decide to become not a Best-in-Class adopter, you still should take care that your money is well spend and you are actually better after moving to S/4HANA because you implement innovation AND you optimize your processes that in many cases, have not been changed since the Pleistocene while your business model and customer demands have moved on.

What you want in the latter case is to have an application within your landscape that acts like a sparring partner. One that focuses your attention to those areas where you can and should be better, that gives you insight where the money and the performance is hidden under your legacy processes and how to realize potential fast and efficiently.
