Sarah Alexander: Growing level of bullying pushing early childhood teachers out of jobs
Growing numbers of early childhood teachers say they're being bullied and it's pushing them out of the job.
A ChildForum report shows a third of early childhood teachers and supervisors had been bullied by other teachers, employers or parents in the last 12 months.
The number of bullying incidents reported has risen by 25 percent since the last survey three years ago.
ChildForum CEO Doctor Sarah Alexander says it's also a concern young people are being exposed to the behaviour before they're taught about it.
"There's no focus on prevention in early childhood. It's not recognised that young children learn about bullying before they start school, the emphasis in the education system is at school level."
