Sarai was the wife of Abraham, previously known as Abram (Genesis 11:29), who is a patriarchal father known for his faith in God. The meaning of the name Sarai is “princess of a king,” perhaps given to her because of her beauty (Genesis 12:11). However, when a name is mentioned in the Bible, it often signifies more about a person’s character or destiny as intended by God.
