In this episode, Sara Roberts McCarley shares the loss of her husband, Randy Roberts, when her children were 6 and 3. Everyone grieves in a different way.

Through this journey, Sara founded the Randy Roberts Foundation in honor of her late husband. The mission of the foundation is to 'cultivate Florida's future leaders through promoting civic engagement, public service initiatives and providing resources to students excelling in those areas'. Each year, Sara takes high school students to DC to learn the intricacies of how the government works. 

There can be positive that comes out of tragedy. And Sara is proof of it. 

Sara Roberts McCarley is the mother of 2, a Lakeland, Florida City Commissioner, and President of the Harrison Parents' Association.
