Migration and urbanisation have been described as major issues on the economic, political and social landscape worldwide. Migration has emerged as a dominant theme in the global political discourse, international relations; and it has become an urgent concern for governance, policy-making and administration at all levels of governance.
The Department of Social Development and Statistics SA are inviting submissions for consideration to the scientific program of the 1st National Migration and Urbanisation Conference. The aim of the conference is assist government by establishing a knowledge base of issues related to various aspects of migration and urbanisation to enable evidence to drive forward the drafting of policy and planning in this regard.
