📆 Each month there are two Ekādaśīs: one during the dark half of the month and one during the bright half. Both carry the same potency and bestow spiritual benefit.

✨ Śaṭ-tilā Ekādaśī is observed on the 11th day of Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa (the waning phase of the moon) in the month of Māgha according to the Hindu calendar, which usually falls in January in the Gregorian calendar. The name comes from two words: śaṭ — six, and tilā — sesame seeds, which possess auspicious qualities.

On this day, sesame seeds are used in six different ways. Charity involving sesame seeds given to those in need is considered especially significant. On this Ekādaśī, there is also a tradition in which those who observe the fast offer water and sesame seeds to their parents and ancestors.

Ekādaśī days are highly auspicious for our spiritual practice and for service to the Lord.
