Do developers change jobs due to job satisfaction, or is it more related to money (their benefits package / their compensation package)?

This has been interesting to see.

I think almost always, there's a job satisfaction related component.

And sometimes the job satisfaction component is related to money, but it's never just about the money.

Because I see people that make less than what I think is the market rate, but they're happy with it for whatever reason.

Then there's people that make more than the market rate that are not happy for whatever reason.

So I think it comes down to the story... the narrative that you tell yourself.

So, you can be really happy making less, and you can be less happy making more.

But I think job satisfaction is a huge component of it. I think it's almost entirely related to that.
