Parents who've adopted children in Joburg say they often pray for the biological mothers - who had nowhere else to turn.

Many of those desperate women safely relinquished their babies through ''Door of Hope'' — an NGO that’s been using “Baby Savers" : secure metal boxes built into crisis centres and churches.

But Social Development is now trying to revoke Door of Hope’s registration - arguing Baby Savers make it "too easy" for parents to walk away from responsibility.
