Cambodian-Lao artist Olivia Sawai, going more frequently by Sawai to preserve her family legacy, summarizes her past year as being in a turbulent washing cycle. But the Long-Beach native is a baddie—a new season offered new opportunities for Sawai, allowing her to pivot away from a teaching career and towards art. Her work can be seen at Starbucks, Prism Boutique, and Kevin Hart’s plant-based restaurant My Hart House.Grief may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning 🌱.
