When someone says they need to have a “hard conversation,” what does that conjure up? To me, that sounds like more work – something difficult, unwanted, and stressful.
But what if you shift the narrative? Instead of a “hard” conversation, what about a courageous conversation? Something that opens up the path to vulnerability, connection, understanding, and respect?
Sounds a whole lot better.
This episode is all about why you should say YES when there’s an opportunity for a courageous conversation in your life, whether it’s personal or professional. These conversations are a chance for you to practice showing up as your best self in tough times.
The path to success isn’t a straight line – it’s a messy, vulnerable, and sometimes frightening process, and you’ll have to have courageous conversations on the way.
In this episode, I share some tips for having these conversations in a way that’s safe, open, and productive. Remember, being perfect and never making a mistake isn’t the goal. The goal is to respond as our best selves when we inevitably do mess up.
I’ll also talk about how courageous conversations can help you figure out if this relationship (whether personal or professional) is no longer a good fit, and how to move on respectfully.
There’s so much to gain from having courageous conversations – we just have to be willing to embrace the messiness.
