Anshu Prajapati is a graduate researcher at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research in Israel. But getting there from India required a massive leap of faith. After months of crushing rejections and self-doubt, a quiet push from friends led her to take a secret risk that changed everything. Here, Anshu shares her journey into the unknown, the hidden hurdles she had to clear to get to Ben-Gurion University, and her reflections on how much she has grown since. Prof. Ilana Rosen, of the Dept. of Hebrew Literature at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev studies folk and documentary literature of Jews and Israelis in the twentieth century including: memory of the Holocaust, literature of Israelis originating from specific countries (e.g. Hungary, Egypt), and proverb study.
