In this episode of Scaled Nation Podcast, we’re chatting with Jason Wiess. He has an incredible weight loss story, but this isn’t the ONLY story. Wadapalooza for the very first year offered a division called “beginners” that allowed truly the beginner CrossFit athlete the opportunity to compete on a huge stage. Jason went from over 400 pounds to competing this year at Wadapalooza in this division. We talk about being inclusive in our boxes – now it’s time to start being inclusive in our competitions.
Athlete was not a word that came easy, but once I accepted it and embraced it, competing became a passion of mine too. When I went out on the surgeries with the double knee replacements, I really thought the opportunity to compete went out the window. Until now – why am I so excited? Because it opened to door for ANYONE including me….. – that’s a hell of a feeling.

Hey, Scaled Nation! If you need a healthy dose of inspiration, then this episode is for you. Today I’m chatting with Cheryl Lathrope, who was recently featured on a January 20, 2020 Morning Chalk Up article. Cheryl has managed to lose 183 pounds over the last eighteen months.
She is extremely open about her struggles and triumphs, and you will enjoy the fun, free-flowing conversation that we have about starting such a massive undertaking of changing one’s life. I especially love the advice that Cheryl shares with us at the very end of the episode, which I know will help many of you. It is especially helpful for that person that might be right there on the edge…. wondering if CrossFit is right for you.

In this episode of Scaled Nation Podcast, we are talking about jump rope. It’s a movement within CrossFit that makes some of us nervous but it’s also a movement that many of us have trouble scaling for various reasons. I have an awesome guest on the show today; Chris Rawlins. He is a jump rope instructor and member of the preferred CrossFit Jump Rope course called Buddy Lee Jump Rope Master Class. I met him when I was out at CrossFit HQ last fall doing team series and the following day, they happen to be putting on this new course which I proudly got to be a part of.
