Members Reviews:
Good fun Adventure in South Africa
Would you consider the audio edition of Scarlet Sash to be better than the print version?
I have not ready the book, just listen but I enjoyed the audio a great deal.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The story is quick, and action packed, the character's are very likably. This all makes for a great read, and as I listen I want to find out how Ensign Early solves the crimes etc.
What does Jonathan Keeble bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Mr. Keeble does a find job telling the story, he can switch between our hero, a Boer tracker, or other officers with ease, and gives each character their own voice, and personality.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was moved by our hero at the Battle of Isandlwana, and how he deals with death in general in the book. Having dealt with tragic sudden death in my own life, it rang true to me what young Ensign Early deals with.
Any additional comments?
If you want a old fashion adventure novel this will will do. If you've ready any of the Crossman series by Mr. Kilworth, you will be please to see Major Crossman make a appearance in this tale.
