In the summer of 2025 we had several guests join us by Zoom to talk to our ministers about preaching. This podcast is a recording of one of those conversations, which we are releasing as a series. We had a morning cohort and an evening cohort for bi-vocational pastors. Sometimes we will put the two conversations together and often you’ll hear one group refer to the other.

In this particular podcast we have a conversation with Dr. Jonathan Pennington, author of "Small Preaching: 25 Little Things You Can Do Now to Make You a Better Preacher"

Dr. Pennington is also Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Additionally, Dr. Pennington serves as one of the Teaching Pastors at Sojourn East Church. He holds a B.A. in History from Northern Illinois University; a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (where he also taught Greek for two years as a NT Fellow); a PhD in New Testament Studies from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland (in St. Mary’s College).
