School shooting awareness display approved for courthouse lawn in December

The Box Elder County Commission has unanimously approved a temporary flag display on the courthouse lawn in early December to honor victims of school shootings. During the commission’s Nov. 5 meeting, local resident Aurelia Saunders asked to install 405 stand-up American flags representing each U.S. school shooting since 2020. She said the display would be up from Dec. 6 through Dec. 13 and that her group would take it down at week’s end.
