Welcome to the very first episode of "goTeach", by Brazos Valley Teach at Texas A&M University. Our host Dr. Val Hill-Jackson, the Principal Investigator and Co-Executive Director of BVTeach sits down with inaugural guest Andrew Peters. Andrew has a 17 year history as a school district superintendent. In this episode, Valerie and Andrew discuss some exciting ways they are encouraging our youth to consider a career in teaching, and helping young people discover if it’s right for them before graduation. Valerie and Andrew will go into additional detail on the teacher shortages facing our local school districts, strategies for overcoming adversity in the classroom, and the makeup of an innovative future-driven community in the Brazos Valley.
