School Yard Rap is a Black owned education consulting, curriculum and content production company that works to build awareness, knowledge, and competencies for excellence and equity in schools and companies. Founded by Brandon “Griot B” Brown, School Yard Rap’s mission is to drastically improve the educational experiences of learners of all ages by providing curriculum, content, music and professional development that uplifts the narratives of minorities. Griot B talks with Lydia Imani about his motivation for launching School Yard Rap and the impact of culturally relevant pedagogy in and beyond the classroom.
