Dr Naude was asked by a national radio program to comment on the minister of basic education’s address on 1 June 2020. It is clear that the DBE isn’t competent in dealing with the logistics of opening schools on their self-imposed due date. Schools seem ready to open but the question remains whether quality education will be given to all.
