On June 9th, Dr Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam sailed past more than 2,000 scientists from 27 countries by presenting a talk on “Cancer Genetics” at the EDF Arena at The Times Cheltenham Science Festival to win the World’s Best Science Communicator award. He shares the meaning behind his achievement and why science communication by scientists is essential.
