How have you dealt with fear lately?
With the uncertainty of the times we are in, fear is inevitable. But it is never a good idea to just be dwelling on it. Fear prevents us from living our daily potential, hence stunting our capacity to live the life we dream about.
Life just like fitness is all about embracing fear. And the only way to conquer the barriers that prevent us from fully developing is to keep moving despite how we feel.
Jaime Glassman’s vision started as a Karate Instructor in high school. She always knew she was passionate about impacting the lives of others and creating a positive change and that has manifested itself helping people through exercise. This endeavor led to her pursuit of a BSc in Human Kinetics and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management which provided an in-depth educational understanding and implementing change for the human body. She is a Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin) with the College of Kinesiology. Her goal is to influence the quality of life of individuals by using exercise as the potent medicine that it is.
In this episode, aside from knowing Jaime as a Scotch aficionado and a Karaoke pro, she shares with us valuable lessons in life by way of her fitness regimen. She makes us realize that you can face your fear despite what you feel. Her journey of dealing with pain and getting herself out of it and finding purpose in finding ways of getting people out of pain is one remarkable way she lives her life. She dabbles into Karate, and the life lessons she learned from it are invaluable and that’s what she will let us try to ponder on. She will make us realize what training will make you out of. The value of self-awareness and discipline will surely let you go further along in life.
As of lately, She’s been keeping herself busy with online programs and webinars that would surely help those people in pain. Find it out here and see what it can do for you. Listen to her as she dishes out her thoughts about telling your story and having people get something from your story for them to buy. It is about realizing not giving away to the world every stuff you have for free, it’s about giving people value to buy for them to take action. There is never an opportune time for her to be talking about trust, ethics, genuineness, and authenticity than today. Much as we would like to believe the online world has good people with good intentions, it’s always good to be forewarned of the opposite, hence the need to be showing up with authenticity to be of help and to give value. She’s into podcasting, too. What made her do it?
“There's so much in our life that feels like it's out of control and even sometimes how we feel it feels out of control. But if we can train our body how to react despite how we feel, it can have psychological benefits, it can help us physically respond to those fight or flight reactions a little bit better.”
