DAO talk

Scott Moore @ Gitcoin || DAO Interviews #6

Listen Later

Scott Moore is the co-founder of Gitcoin, a platform where communities come together to build and fund the open web.

Scott began his web3 journey back in 2015 after making the jump from the web2 tech space. He found his way into the budding crypto space in Toronto and hasn’t looked back since.

During our talk, Scott gives us his thoughts on dealing with market cycles and explains the iterative nature of the web3 space. Having seen his fair share of bull and bear runs, he offers up some valuable perspective on seeing through the hype and FUD.

We discuss the roles of DAOs and NFTs as tools to create better web3 onboarding, the issues with scaling DAOs too quickly, and what the future of DAOs might look like. We also hit on the spicy topic of DAO leadership and how it differs from the management of traditional organizations.

In regards to Gitcoin, Scott speaks on some of the challenges they have faced as they have progressively decentralized, as well as some positive pivots. He also breaks down some branches of their very active DAO and the workstreams that they have spun up. Scott also gives his thoughts on today’s DAO tooling, scaling communities, and organizing around vibes and values.
