Australia is under growing international pressure to lock in greenhouse reduction targets ahead of the UN climate change conference in Glasgow, which kicks off next month.

Most wealthy countries are working to halve their emissions by 2030, while Australia has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 26 per cent (from 2005 levels) by 2030.

But within government, there are some pushing for no further action at all.
