Only on the "CBS This Morning" podcast, "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley joins his new "60 Minutes" colleague John Dickerson to discuss what it was like to cover some of the major news events of our time. In his new book, "Truth Worth Telling: A Reporter?s Search for Meaning in the Stories of Our Times," Pelley shares the emotional impact of reporting on tragedies like the September 11 terrorist attacks and the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He says he wanted to write a memoir that isn?t about him and instead act as a windowpane through which people see things. Pelley also explains why democracy can?t exist without journalists, why empathy is a reporter?s best asset and how he hopes to inspire the next generation of journalists.
