Entering his third season with the Vanderbilt Commodore is senior wide receiver Richie Hoskins.
Richie is a former Scouts football player. As a senior in the spring of 2021, Hoskins led the Scouts to an undefeated season and was named North Suburban Conference Player of the Year.
Hoskins is the first guest on the Slants and Arrows podcast for the 2024 season.
Topics discussed:
* The state of his football career at Vanderbilt
* How sports performance for a college athlete encompasses strength, sleep and nutrition
* Why capability and dependability matters to be a successful college athlete
* The state of college football in the era of the transfer portal and NIL
* The complimentary skillset between lacrosse and football
Wednesday, Richie was nominated for a community service award by Allstate.
He is the football team’s representative on Vanderbilt’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), helping lead the team’s community service efforts alongside student-athletes from across the department.
An economics major, Hoskins made the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll for the 2022-23 campaign and was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2023.
I went long with Richie and we covered lots of topics. I hope you enjoy this extended conversation. I know I did.
