The Scriptures are the final authority for all children of God. When we study the scriptures they reveal Jesus Christ. The Lord is the written Word of God. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4)
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:15) Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. (2 Timothy 4:13)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; so they will turn their ear away from the truth to listen to myths. (KJV)
