In this episode of Surviving Entrepreneurship Podcast, I welcome Mr. James Smiley. James is the Co-founder of Mentor Lab, author, podcaster, entrepreneur, and a well-known digital marketer with over 20 years of experience under his belt.
Smiley talks about how it all began when he was just 16-years old.
At the time, he had just been hired to work at McDonalds. Not long after working there, James tells listeners how he stumbled upon an ingenious way to trick the system.
Unfortunately, his plan to game the system did not last long before the authorities were on to him. He also tells us how he narrowly escaped jail immediately when his supervisor got wind of what he was doing.
Later, he shares how he joined another Silicon Valley tech company, which led him down the digital marketing route. He shares about how fortunate he was to witness the dotcom crash and the housing crash all of which gave him a sharp eye for spotting opportunities. He also shares some powerful tips such as leveraging the power of technology and changing our environment to make the greatest impact.
Today he is committed to spreading his entrepreneurship message across the world. He has served in over 40+ companies and mentored many students who have come to learn under him. He also plans to mentor and equip more than 1 million entrepreneurs in the next 5 years.
