In the early 1800s, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark became famous for their perilous journey to the Pacific Ocean and back. Less famous was Lewis' faithful Newfoundland dog, Seaman. Over several years and thousands of miles, Seaman stood loyally by his master's side, proving to be one of the most valuable members of the Corps of Discovery.
