With event risk affecting currencies, the concern is not what you sell, but what you buy, according to Simon Derrick, chief currency strategist at BNY Mellon. He joins Alphaville reporter David Keohane to discuss which safe havens investors can retreat to, considering the pressures on the dollar from the fiscal cliff and the impact of upcoming elections on the yen. Also under discussion is whether foreign exchange reserves will continue to grow in the next year.
