The Anglo-Italian Pod

Season 02 - Ep. 24 - "Mr. President, sit on my back!" feat. Luca

Listen Later

It's Friday, and that means one thing: it's time for your dose of Anglo-Italian Pod, from Ruairi and Tommi!

This week we start off by taking you through all the Champions League action. It was a great week for English teams as City make light(ish) work of PSG and Kyle Walker impresses, Michael is at the wheel as United get back to winning ways, Chelsea hammer Juventus and make us ask yet again... do they really need Big Rom? Beautiful stuff also for Liverpool as Thiago scores a beauty and they clock up more points than the rest of their group combined! For Italian teams it was mixed fortunes, as Inter finally reach the knockout rounds after a patient win over Shakhtar, Messias gives us the moment of the week scoring a late winner at the Wanda Metropolitano, Atalanta refuse to hold on to leads and Juventus get battered by Chelsea (had to mention it again). Finally, we preview this weekend's Serie A and Premier League action.

Then it is time for our Weekly Topic, and it is the return of friend of the show Luca to take us through calcio history with a banger! We focus on our great city of Milan and how the black and blue half were made great. We're of course talking about the dynasty that is the Moratti family and how both father and son delivered success domestically, continentally and globally while creating iconic teams and moments along the way, from Catenaccio to counter attacks, from Suarez to Sneijder and from Herrera to The Special One... You don't want to miss it!

Sit back and enjoy guys as we prepare you for your footballing weekend!
