It got me thinking. As an adult why do we believe or not believe? For me believing in something or someone is important. Maybe it’s not about the big guy in the red suit. But believing has power and it does affect our mindset.
We all have a need to believe.
This may include:
The BIGGEST belief though is the belief in ourselves
There was a time in my life where I realized that I stopped believing in myself. It was about 6 years ago.
I had thrown in that proverbial towel in my mind.
I came to realize over time was that I never actually stopped believing in myself. Buried somewhere, deep down inside, was a passion that I simply didn’t know how to tap into consciously.
Although I had failed miserably, and many times over, I eventually recovered.
Today, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t want to go back and erase those failures, as hard as they were on me. I would do absolutely nothing differently. Through failure, life’s greatest lessons are learned. It’s through failure that we build a platform for great success.
Believing in impossible beings such as Santa or God. Yet we are all born with Faith.
I am not one to tell someone Santa is real or not. Just like I am not someone that can say Jesus is for real or not.
But I also know BELIEF is a choice. Just like my daughter Emma - at 10 years old she whole hardly believed in Santa and just 3 years later she is choosing to question that belief.
Eliminate words like CAN’T, NEVER, and IMPOSSIBLE.
Practice doing the impossible on a daily basis.
Surround yourself with “go-for-it” people.
Talk to, read about, watch, and listen to people who have overcome obstacles to make it.
