Jacqueline is joined by founder and CEO of the Black Ensemble Theater Company, Dr. Jackie Taylor. Dr. Taylor shares her journey from being raised in the Cabrini Green Housing Project in Chicago to being honored by former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, who declared March 27th “Jackie Taylor” day in Illinois. She has starred in major movies; her first role was in the 1975 cult classic, Cooley High. She has written and produced over 100 plays and musical biographies, and has contributed to the arts community in numerous ways. Dr. Taylor is also the President and Executive Director of the African American Arts Alliance of Chicago. She continues to shine and lift up those around her.
