In Episode 11 of the first Season of The Staffroom with Chey and Pav, the dynamic duo talks at length about Technology in the classroom. They discuss the best types of Tech available to students at the school they are at, and what they feel are the best types of technology for them, and also how much they would like to have access to them. The pair discusses the use of Chromebooks and iPads, as well as the use of different web-based programs, namely Google programs. Pav discusses the ways that teachers can infuse Technology into their current programs, with changing assignments year-to-year, and Chey talks about his optimal technological learning environments that he has created in his English program over the years. Chey also discusses the flexibility of learning that he gets through use of the Chromebooks - research becomes easy to supplement good lessons. Pav mentions the SAMR model, and how many reluctant teachers often use technology as a substitute for things they are already doing in their classrooms, just now with Tech. The pair introduce their third guest onto the “3 Enlightened Minutes” segment, Adam Kotowski, or Coach Adam, as he is lovingly known as to his peers and mentees. Adam talks about his “Extraordinary Me” program, a Motivational and Mentorship program based on 3 pillars - Identity, Mission in Life and Beliefs. Chey and Pav talk about some anecdotal references in regards to technology before wrapping up the episode. There’s always something to talk about in the Staff Room!
