Two of the most important features to any product are its form and function. From consumer electronics to fashion, how a product looks as well as how easy it is to use, is just as important as the mathematical and scientific principles that go into designing and creating that product. Even if it works well, a product that lacks an aesthetically pleasing look is likely to have limited success. Therefore, in addition to stimulating our imaginations and making our world aesthetically pleasing, art and creativity also have practical commercial purposes in the world of STEM. This is among the many reasons why there is a lot of momentum for expanding the STEM educational paradigm to STEAM (Science,Technology, Engineering, ART and Mathematics).
