The Purple Man wasn’t purple? 

(or interesting?)

A suspected serial killer is apprehended but escapes when the patrol car he’s being held in inexplicably drives in front of an oncoming truck. All of the murders he’s suspected of—and previously confessed to—have been ruled suicides. Mulder believes the killer is using some kind of power of persuasion to force people to hurt themselves. Mulder and Scully try to track him down and prove that he’s a killer before anyone else dies.
