The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE

Our guest for today is Chris Crespo. Chris is a Director at EY who inspires people to lead authentically while connecting people to achieve more together through EY's Professional Networks, LGBT+ inclusiveness strategy, and supporting EY’s equality advocacy through public policy. With 30+ years at EY in Tax and on the Talent team, her efforts have been recognized with the inaugural Americas Chairman’s Values Award at EY and the Trailblazer Award by Out & Equal Workplace Advocates. Chris resides in New Jersey, tries keeping up with her three adult children living across the US, uses Chris/she/they pronouns and enjoys walks outdoors when the weather is nice and Peloton biking when it’s not.

My key takeaways are as follows:

1. Tomorrow is not a given and we know this well today with the current circumstances of Covid.

2. Know yourself. What interests you. What gives you energy. Make it part of your life to take the time to do what is important for you. Simply put, in the day to day grind, don’t forget to take care of yourself. If you want others to value your time, then you need to value your time first.

3. Be okay to be vulnerable with your friends, family, and colleagues and in turn give them the safe space to be vulnerable with you

4. Get yourself some good friends who will be honest with you and help you look in that mirror. In conclusion, remember to put on your oxygen mask first - make time for yourself and do those little things for yourself that you enjoy doing. And to play my part well, once I stop this recording I will be going over to sit by the window and enjoy my cup of tea!!

You can personally write to me at [email protected] with your comments or if you have a story to share with our listeners. I will bring you another episode of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.
