My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows:
1. Having a negative emotion is not a bad thing. We should accept a negative emotion like anger, hurt, feeling upset just like we would accept being happy or joyful.
2. Talking about emotions and feelings in the family and at work is healthy and not having that kind of open communication with our children, spouses, friends, co-workers etc. can be hurtful
3. Community is very important and to those who are feeling alone, don’t try to tackle mental illness on your own, do seek out those connections that really feel special to you
4. More importantly, Nisan’s final message was to not make assumptions from what we see because what we see is actually not what is going on deep down. Let people have their own truths. Let people have their own truths!!
You can personally write to me at [email protected] with your comments or if you have a story to share with our listeners. I will bring you the 50th and last episode of season 5 of Sharing Life Lessons next Wednesday. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'.
