A curious learner, journalist, and former international student -- Born and raised in Manila, Jim Bea moved to Hawaii for college at age 16, right after graduating high school. She received her degree in Journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa while on a student visa. She lived in Hawai’i for five years and just last year, in the middle of the pandemic, she moved back to Manila after her student visa ended. Currently, she is one of the editorial assistants for Hawai’i Filipino Chronicle.
