A conversation with a international student at UH Manoa, we have Adi hear with us on Kasamahan Co sharing his experience as a PhD Student. He would say I’m a Filipino, not an immigrant so the generational classification might not be appropriate. I consider myself transient in Hawaii and planning to go back home after my academic training. Both parents are from Negros Oriental in the Visayas region. I would say that this time with Adi, getting to know where he came from and the many things that kept him grounded while studying abroad at a foreign country.
