In this episode they kick off a mini-series within the series—we’ll explore dependence as a core teaching of Jesus, threaded through His parables and miracles and constantly modeled by Him. To walk in His ways means to live a dependent life. But the church has typically elevated a different way of living, urging us to “try harder to be better.” It’s in direct contrast to a life of dependence—best expressed in Jesus’ metaphor for our relationship with Him: the “branch” embedded in the “Vine.”
