The Standoff is a 10 episode true crime podcast.  Huntsville, Texas has a few prisons and in 1974 this particular house of the unholy had a hostage hoedown that lasted 11 days.  A drug kingpin, Fred Gomez Carasco took hostages and demanded to be taken out of the country or people were going to start dying.  This news story was buried on page 2 in the papers.  WHY? Apparently, some Watergate thing that an asshole from the White House had organized was the top of the national zeitgeist that week.
