Jesus heals a man's sight because He was in desperate need - but in that healing it meant that the man had to respond to Jesus's command.  How committed are you to following Christ when He calls you to act?  Right now, wherever you are hearing this message, we must remember that if we are ever going to grow in our faith, we must be men and women who are willing to listen for, to comprehend / digest, and to respond to the words of our Creator.  Thank you for joining us as we kick-off this new sermon series, "Gaining Spiritual Sight".  God bless you.

People often reject what challenges them.  Primarily, this is because our rebellion clouds our discernment, our pride often chooses denial over repentance, and our own spiritual blindness causes us to miss what God is doing.  Jesus covers all three of these critical items by calling them to understand who He is, with some of the most direct answers spoken to date.  Simply, He responds to their accusation of "Who do you think you are?" with the words ... "I AM".  For us today - we must lean into this truth and hold fast to the wisdom that everything we will ever need, want, or desire is ONLY found in Him.  God bless you.     

If we will not love the things of God, or even have love for God Himself, how can we possible call ourselves "followers of His"?  This is the main point Jesus is attempting to drive home as He continues His conversation (and response) to the criticisms being hurled at Him from the religious.   In sharp contrast, if we would be submissive to the things of God, would we not be showing the fruits of the Spirit to others in everything we do?  Truly, this is our challenge today and where we must decide who we will live for.  God bless you.  

People often lived (and still do) by the false concept that somehow being from a certain bloodline means that you are good - and that you don't need a Messiah to forgive your sins.  Jesus's teaching, in the Temple, is 100% contrary to this lie and He is attempting to correct their bad theology by declaring they need to believe, and from that believe we are called to abide (dwell, to live in) His teachings.  If we are truly going to get serious about Discipleship, it must start here with this important teaching to the people of Israel - as well as to us right now wherever we might hear these words.  God bless you.   

Abraham was a respected religious figure, loved, honored, and even followed ... BUT ... Abraham knew the significance of a Messiah to come!  Continuing in John 8, we clearly see how Jesus never minced words when it came to eternity; and in this series introduction Pastor TJ Conwell begins to unpack the parallels between Abraham and Jesus, emphasizing that as Abraham's life pointed to a coming Messiah, all of those who call themselves "followers" of Christ must do the same.  Will we follow obediently or are still trapped in our sin, looking for our own solutions to escape it?  This is truly the question we must all settle today. 

The primary claim Jesus makes about Himself in John, Chapter 8, is that He is the light of the world - which infuriates the religious leaders who solely want to disprove and denounce who He is.  However, the “religious” (both then and today) are often the worst examples of leading by faith since they are always claiming to be pious and righteous in their living and teachings - yet they are neither because they are controlled by a wicked heart.  Join us as we unpack this dramatic showdown and see how Jesus works through this truth with grace, an invitation to freedom, and encouragement of even our faith today.  God bless you.  

Continuing our study in John, we examine a story not originally found in the earliest discovered New Testament manuscripts, but defended & taught about throughout the early Church because of it's application.  Pastor TJ Conwell walks us through discussing what this text means by confronting something each of us has to deal with ... and it is not about a "footnote" in the Bible.  (It is not even about a woman caught in sin!)  No, the lesson seen in this passage is how every one of us responds TO sin -- especially when our sin is so clearly on display before a Holy and Righteous Lord.  May the words of this message change hearts today, starting with ours.  God bless you.  

Beginning a new series from the Gospel of John, we see a very common response to Jesus that still exists today.  The religious leaders of the day simply want Jesus gone and their primary claim was because He was a “deceiver”.  In doing so, they dismissed Jesus and attempted to convince others of the same!  The challenge for us right now today is:  Do we also try to get people to see our side of who God is vs. scripture’s commandments; and in turn reject Jesus as the Savior we truly need?  The fact we must grapple with is that our sin must be accounted for - and for humanity today the blood stained cross IS our testimony, and it must be shared and rejoiced over that truly ... IT IS FINISHED!   

During the culmination of the Feast of the Tabernacles, Jesus steps forward amidst all of the pomp & ceremony to give the greatest offering that the people would have ever heard.  He offers them life - real life - in the form of rivers that would never cease to flow from within them (this is the offer and promise of the Holy Spirit).  His offer of freedom, forgiveness, and change is the same one that is still available today - if only we would accept it and repent of our sin.  Pastor TJ Conwell concludes the sermon series, Discipleship Will Cost You, with a personal and convicting challenge for each of us to apply.  May God bless you always as you seek to follow Him daily.
