Just pretty pictures
Description of Kayleigh playing during the seasons, but the reader never learns who she is. At first I thought it was a cat or dog since their photos are included with lovely pictures of the seasons. But then we read that she goes out in the snow with her doggy, so I guess she is a little girl. It's a shame that a photo of Kayleigh was included on the first page, even if it was just the back of her.
Yay for younger readers and story time!!!
This picture book is exactly what preschool-age children love! I have taught preschool for ten years, so I know ! I liked the easy- flowing text and pictures... it works to grab children's attention and mine, too. This is a nice book that isn't full of scientific explanations fit for older kids but it is one to read with younger ones and may spur on an adventure exploring the wonderful outdoors !!
A cute book about seasons
This an educational book that talks about the seasons. If you are looking for a great book about the seasons, I highly recommend this one! It has lovely pictures that children are sure to enjoy.
AS THE WORLD TURNS
This paperback or kindle book is aimed at the preschool market. There are some pretty black and white as well as color photographs. It explains the change of seasons through pictures and activities that a young child may enjoy. I think the book might have more impact if a child were included in the photographs. Young children will get the idea if the text is read aloud while pointing to the pictures, but the book has no real story line.
Too simple
This book would have been much better if it simply talked about the seasons. Or what kids like to do in each season for example. But when you include a specific character but do not offer even a glimpse of this character, then it becomes a failure. What is the character in the book? I would call it a ghost character. Other than that the photos are nice, though I am not sure if the images are not just pulled out of the internet. I can conclude this by the different quality in the photos (some blurrier than others).
If this book did not include an invisible character I would have given it 4 stars, because it is educational and the photos chosen are nice. But right now, I wouldn't.
